Designing with Tile

June 6, 2017

I am a BIG fan of tile – there I said it. Now, lets discuss my specific love of tile, and in the process, give you some resources to find tile that you may also love, like this Moroccan Hex Dot tile above from Popham Design.

My personal love of tile is specific to my pattern obsession, and leans towards geometric patterns and Moroccan designs, which is also a big design trend right now, so I couldn’t be more in heaven about all the options out there; however, other reasons to love tile are because it’s durable, waterproof, easy to clean, doesn’t collect as many allergens, and is great for warmer climates to stay cool.

There are a lot of great pattern options out there and they all range in price. What I love most about tile is that it can really “make” a room. Be it flooring, a back splash, an entryway, or even just around the mantel, it is a great way to bring a pattern to a room that can be fun, bold, inviting, sophisticated and create an interest to a room that may otherwise be fairly simple.

Pinterest and Instagram are great resources to find images of tile being used in beautiful spaces, but here are a few of my favorites and where you can find them, that range from about $2/sq. ft to $18/sq. (eeeek!)

Now, I know that these all are on the pricier side, so if you are looking for something in the $2-6/sq.ft price range, Home Depot actually has a great line out called the Merola Collection.  Very affordable, and very similar styles as the ones above. Or check out more on Overstock.com!

Happy Shopping!
